Facts: Mac OS X uses many BSD-derived packages (pieces of software) Linux, OS X, and BSD are all "Unix-like" operating systems The BSD license offers the least restrictive licensing, while Mac OS X has the strictest. Suggestions: BSD is not an easy-to-use OS like OS X, Ubuntu Linux, or Windows; I recommend sticking to those for most non-server purposes. http://www.freebsd.org/
